hello everyone, havent been on for a couple of months as our daughter got married in july, so i missed the taunton meeting that month and then, because my hearing has deteriorated so much, had to see the ENT Dr who sent me for a heat mri. good news i have a brain, located in the head (not the little toe as the hubby insisted!) the found a tumour on the acoustic nerve, so awaiting surgery to dispose of it. now i know why i fall over so often, and slur alot, without the aid of alchol! great meeting on tuesday night, jonathan wood was informative about the different types of painkillers and how generic meds are the same as the named ones. tereasa was excelent, i didnt realise that some of the meds started being used so long ago. xxxx

Hi Marie
I know that is not a wonderful diagnosis but at least they have found the cause of your problems and can rectify it. I hope you haven't got too long to wait for your op.

Hi Marie Good to see you again. As Sheila said, it's not the very best diagnosis you could have had but you now know what you are dealing with and the surgery should make a huge difference. Love Jeanxxx PS I'm glad they found you have a brain - I doubt if theywould find mine, it's so small xxxxx

Hi Marie, Sorry you`re still waiting, and hope you get seen quickly : it`s infuriating when letters go astray.I don`t blame you for lighting the fire - definitely cooler up here in the NE too! Take care, Kathleen x

Hello Marie
How annoying that the letter went astray. Grr . it does appear to happen a lot doesn't. I thought most the consultants wrote to each other by e.mail these days. . . . . Oh well, but I am sorry that you are having to wait you will be so anxious.
Yes invite the Son in law and get the wood brought up for you. Nothing worse than being cold. A gorgeous day today though. Hubby and myself went to the sea front today and watched the yatch and had an ice cream - just the job.

hi all. well been to bristo, and saw an oncologist, seems the little blighter is deep seated and they dont or cant remove it surgically. its going to have to be nuked, to hopefully stop it growing, so now i am well fed up. if it has grown since july, its a course of radiotherapy, if no its a large shot of radiation to the head, pinpointed on the tumour. at least its not cancerous, just a pain! have a great xmas all, take it easya marie xxx

oooh nuked! you ARE special huh?
surprised the NHS and its cash strapped bosses havent decided to ask you to pop your head in the microwave....!
Listen, I have this friend who has grown one of these things on her pituatory gland. Again op not possible but they have done a MRI Wait and see approach there. She kept having awful migranes and it took ages for them to do the MRI but once they did they could immediately see the tumour.
I know one other man with a similar issue- he only found out because they couldnt have a second child and did the tests and now he takes tablets to sort the hormones out. He had the radiotherapy to try and shrink the tumour last year and now takes daily meds to keep it small I guess. Again no cancer thankfully but scary for his wife and daughter.
I am going for cyclophos in the new yr and bit scared... In solidarity....

Hi Marie
Good luck. I hope the 'nuking' works then you don't need to have the radiotherapy. Best wishes for Christmas.
